One Kendall
Square is an 11-building, multi-use
Cambridge campus. The buildings include
laboratory and office space, a parking
garage, and the Kendall Square Cinema with a
total of 676,440 sq. ft. of space. Portions
of the complex date back to 1887 when the
plant was used to manufacture fire hoses.

Various
upgrades and phased improvements will occur
in the occupied campus with special
attention paid to avoid disrupting ongoing
operations.
Current work in progress:

Exterior improvements: Painting of
buildings 700, 650, 600, 400 and 1400
- Site
improvements: Hardscaping and
landscaping of all exterior walkways
and courtyards new brick pavers,
railings, stairs, trees, furnish and
install
new site lighting and granite surrounds.

Install sunshades at buildings 1400 and
300

Install awnings at building 1400, 650,
300 and 200
-
Existing lobby renovations to: building
1400 (5,000 sq. ft.), building 650
(28,000 sq. ft.), and building 400
(3,500 sf)

Renovation and installation of new
handrails at building 1400, 650 and 300
Renovation
of existing pass through at building 1400 –
2200 sq. ft.
Additional renovations are being evaluated
as work progresses.
