Winchester Country
Club Renovated, Restored, and Expanded
|
|
|
WINCHESTER, Mass. July 2000 -- The
Winchester Country Club was treated to an
extensive reconstruction over the last year
including remedial structural repairs, substantial
additions, and new interiors. The entire building
(50,000 square feet) and grounds are essentially
new construction.

Without
changing the character of the
original structures,
Richard White Sons
added a new entry, incorporated
three elevators, replaced the MEP systems
throughout, added a new function room
and terrace,
gutted and rebuilt the kitchen, added a pro shop,
and restored the original post and beam structure
and Greek Revival dining room. The architecture
was furnished by Stirling/Brown Architects of
Winchester, Mass.
Substantial new site work included roads,
drives, walks, landscaping, stonework, and
flatwork. In |

addition, the company self-performed
the site work, utilities, and much of the
carpentry.
