improvement plans and welcome your inquiry.
Richard White Sons' preconstruction services
are provided with a proactive team approach that
utilizes the services of our highly experienced staff to give owners and their
consultants a realistic assessment of their
project’s construction needs. During preconstruction, we become actively involved
with the Owner’s Program Manager/Representative and the
Design Professionals to function as a valued
member of the Project Team.
Richard White Sons' Preconstruction Team
includes a Principal, an Estimator and a Project Manager. In many cases
we will also involve our Safety Officer and the
Project Superintendent to address "constructability"
issues.
Today, Richard White Sons still operates as a
true "General Contractor" in an era populated
with "brokers". Our field
and office personnel are completely
prepared to tackle projects procured through the
traditional Design-Bid-Build
construction process.
As
a General Contractor, Richard White Sons brings
a vast wealth of construction expertise to
any building project. We maintain a full-time
construction trade staff that includes
carpenters and laborers in
our direct employ. Our capacity to consistently

quality projects is enhanced by our ability
to provide experienced in-house trade staff. When engaged, these
professional tradespeople allow Richard White
Sons direct control of the most critical
elements of project: cost, quality and schedule.
Richard
White Sons has been providing Construction
Management Services on a negotiated basis for
decades. As Construction Managers, we effectively
become a part of the Project Team that
includes: the Owner and its representatives, the
Design Team and their
Consultants and our Construction Professionals.
Richard
White Sons' Team is led by a Principal
who is assigned to coordinate our efforts within
the Project Team. These Principals - who share in
the ownership of our firm - reinforce our commitment to
delivering top-level attention to your
project. They are continually involved from the beginning of the Preconstruction phase through the Construction
phase, into the warranty period and beyond.
As an alternative to traditional project delivery
methods, we offer Design/Build which
simplifies project delivery for both the
Client and the Architect. The Design/Build approach combines
architectural, engineering and construction
services under one contract between the
Owner and the Design/Builder. With a single
point of responsibility resting with one
entity, this approach allows for the fast
tracking of the Owner's project through
enhanced coordination of design and
construction activities.
Over the
years, Richard White Sons has formed several
collaborative relationships with
architectural and engineering firms to
perform design and construction projects on
a Design/Build basis.Under the right set of project
conditions we recommend and endorse the
Design/Build project delivery process.
First and foremost, Richard White Sons is
committed to total client satisfaction and to
the achievement of long-term
relationships with our clients and associates.
We deliver construction projects of exceptional
quality in an expert and competitive manner,
with a passion for service excellence, innovative approaches,
and specialized resources for the benefit of
our clients.
Cooperative Relationships With
a spirit of cooperation and collaboration, we

team to achieve timely, safe, and cost-effective
results. Motivated by shared goals, we strive
every day to preserve our reputation as a firm
that can be trusted.

with the Associated General Contractors' motto
of "Skill, Responsibility, and Integrity" within
our organization and through our approach to
project delivery.
Flexibility, innovation, effectiveness and
quality have been the hallmark
of Richard
White Sons' services for generations. Starting
in 1905, company founder, Richard White
established a masonry and contracting business
that flourished as a home builder and then
as a commercial construction firm building schools,
retail, and office projects.
In 1931,
Richard White Sons incorporated in the
Commonwealth of Massachusetts and built
corporate offices and an equipment maintenance
facility in West Newton, MA. Under the
management of the founder's three sons, Edmond
H. White, Richard J. White and William F. White,
the firm became involved in larger commercial
projects and public works including
infrastructure projects, bridge erection, and
road construction.
