(Auburndale, MA – 8 June 2005) Richard White
Sons, Inc. was honored with a Citation from the
Office of the Massachusetts Governor for 100 Years
in Business in Massachusetts.
2005 marks the company’s 100th year of
continuous construction operations as a
fourth-generation, family owned business based in
Newton, Massachusetts since 1905.
The company founder, Richard White, emigrated from
Ireland in the 1890’s and established a masonry
contracting business working locally in the Boston
area. The firm has since grown to construct such
landmark projects as; The Christian Science Church
Portico, Boston College’s Alumni Stadium,
Wellesley College’s Davis Museum and Harvard
Business School’s Morgan Hall.

The citation was presented from Massachusetts
Governor Mitt Romney to Donald E. White, President
and Edmond H. White, Jr., Chairman of the Board.
Richard White Sons is an Auburndale, MA-based
Construction Management firm founded in 1905. For
100 years they have provided Construction
Management and General Contracting services to
corporate and institutional clients throughout New
England.
