Watertown Arsenal Center, Arsenal Center for the Arts

Watertown, MA

Anchor tenant and major public attraction in the Watertown Arsenal, the Arsenal Center for the Arts is a multi-use complex of classrooms, offices, private art, and practice studios along with a 125-person Black Box theater and 380-seat main production theater.

The complex was built within the shell of one of the oldest historic buildings on the brick campus. Work included protection of the existing shell / roof structures, removal of the existing concrete slab, complete new structural and foundation components, as well as new MEP systems and finishes.

All retail and restaurant establishments adjacent to the work remained in business and work was accomplished without disruption.

The project involves three new floors built into the single story high-bay brick historic building.
