Richard White Sons, Inc. has been utilizing the benefits of Building Information Modeling (BIM) since 2007. In order to maintain the level of performance our clients were accustomed to from Richard White Sons, senior leadership realized that procedures needed to be modernized; hence our BIM and Technology division was implemented. The model created with REVIT is a data-rich planning tool that provides estimating, scheduling, QTO, structural/MEP coordination, and as-built documentation that can be developed for any size project. These tools not only streamline the construction process by minimizing RFI’s and change orders, but they also allow the owner to visualize the completed structure before the project begins, additionally BIM allows for pre-fabrication and ultimately Owner savings. Although BIM has many useful components, the most favorable feedback we receive from our clients is the costs savings generated from accelerated project schedules and early clash detection.
